Threshold State designs and develops software for web sites. Our clients are web designers, web developers, and web publishers. Our software is simple, flexible, reliable and reusable.

We provide both bespoke software development services and custom alterations to existing software. Our considerable experience developing for Textpattern, and an extensive library of reusable code, means we can quickly develop high quality, cost effective plugins and applications.

A range of open source software — including the zem series of Textpattern plugins — is available as a free download. In addition, we have a growing range of plugins and applications available only to our commercial clients. Contact us for details.

Technical Support

Threshold State provides commercial technical support services for the complete range of zem plugins. We can provide troubleshooting help, installation and upgrade assistance, documentation and examples, bug fixes, and enhance existing software with new features to your specifications.

Support requests for commercial clients are handled via our secure support ticket system, with direct email contact available.

Quotes

Threshold State uses an agile software development process: we start by building something basic but functional, then gradually improve and enhance it one step at a time based on feedback from you, the client. In most cases this precludes fixed-price quoting. However, we’re happy to provide time estimates to our clients based on a project brief or list of requirements.

As a rough guide:

• A simple Textpattern plugin can often be developed and tested in 1-4 hours.
• More complex plugins, particularly those involving new database tables, usually take upwards of half a day.
• Plugins with a new admin user interface tab normally require at least a full day’s work.
• More complex applications can take several days or more.
• Enhancements to existing plugins can require anything from an hour upwards.

Please note this is a guide only. The time required for any project depends on its particulars, and the amount of testing, changes and technical support required.

Rates and Billing

Casual consulting rates are available for support and short development projects, billed at $USD 90 per hour in 15 minute increments (1 hour minimum; $AUD 120/hr including GST for Australian residents).

Reduced rates are available for pre-paid blocks of consulting time. Pre-paid time may be allocated for development and support work as required, and needn’t be limited to a single project.

Retainer contracts are also available, for a regular number of consulting hours per calendar month.

Payments may be made with Paypal, direct bank deposit within Australia, or SWIFT international transfer.
